West Seattle

West Seattle is a part of Seattle, but it has a different feel to it. It has that small beach town feel that we find appealing. Vân had to go over to West Seattle for work one day, so we made a day out of it. We went to Camp Long for Vân to look at the space and the rope course, then we had lunch at Marination -- beef bulgogi tacos, kimchi sausages with rice, and fries. It was a beautiful day. Had it not been the skyline in the background, we might have forgotten that it was Seattle.

Dancing with Elmo

Elmo came to town for a Sesame Street Concert. And he made a special appearance at the Children's Museum. At first, Sophie freaked out when she saw Elmo. She ran away from him. But after a minute or so, she warmed up and wanted to dance with him. He could only stay for 15 minutes, but it was the best 15 minutes ever at the Children's Museum.

Painting My Own Nails

Sophie tried to pain her own nails. She didn't miss a spot, but she painted more than just her nails. She managed to pour the nail polish all over her shirt and pants. Have a look.

"I want a nanny!"

Sophie is not really good at sharing or playing by herself. But when she had a play date with Emerson, a friend from dance class, she shared her toys with an older kid, played with dirt all by herself, and had a lot of fun with Emerson and her nanny. It was a good play date. But when we left, Sophie cried and said, "Daddy, I want a nanny."

Visit from Auntie Ngan

Auntie Ngan came to visit for a week back in April. Sophie was very happy to have her auntie around. She wanted to do everything and went everywhere with her auntie. We took auntie to see the tulip festival in Skagit Valley and the Botanical Garden in Bellevue. We even took auntie to REI. But the best part was trying new restaurants around town with auntie Ngan. We all gained a few pounds from auntie Ngan's visit.
