Baby #2 is coming!

Van is in labor. Baby is coming. Van's doctor scheduled the birth induction for Monday. But baby wants to come early. Baby is determined!

We've been waiting for a while now. I'm glad I put in the car seat earlier today. Seahawks are playing against the Rams tomorrow for the #1 seed in the NFC. I will probably miss the game tomorrow. But it's OK. I'm going to call her "Babyhawk"... or Power 17 (it's a power run play).

First Sleepover!

Sophie invited her bff, Coralyn, for their first sleepover this weekend. There were some ups and downs, but for the most part, it went quite well. Only one major fight (over Ariel stickers) that was easily remedied (thank goodness there were several Ariel stickers to share). Otherwise, the girls had a fun 23 hours together.
teamwork! but alas, the puzzle was more work than the two could manage.
grilled cheese and tomato soup--delicioso!
All tucked in for story time.
Good night!
Enjoying some donuts for breakfast.
Ready for trick-or-treating!
Meeting the "real" Elsa.
trick-or-treating at The Northwest School dorms
Decorating my cookie and eating it too!

Sleepovers are exhausting!

Keiki has grown so much (almost as big as his mom), but he's still Sophie's baby. She loves to cuddle with him.

checking for fleas...

Hula!

We went to the aloha festival this weekend (Sam Choi was there!), and Sophie and her friend Coralyn entertained us with their own interpretive hula.

Fun in the Sun

We had unseasonably sunny and warm weather this past weekend so we headed to Lake Washington, which is warm enough even for Sophie to venture in.

Olaf's sand cousin

She insisted on posing in this position.

This is what she gave me when I asked for a "serious" look.

I Love Troy!

We introduced Sophie to High School Musical, thinking she'd like the singing and dancing. It's now her favorite movie. She especially loves Zac Ephron's character, Troy. In the video below, she's singing one of his solos from HSM2.

Beach Bum

We've been heading to the beach more this summer due to the heat as well as the proximity. Sophie loves to walk in the sand barefoot.

Sophie's impression of a beached mermaid.

Hello Kitty Groupie!

We've been following around Hello Kitty this summer. Sophie is always super excited at the idea of seeing Hello Kitty, but when she's confronted with that big white head, she gets a little scared.

I love pocky! That's a pocky balloon, in case you were wondering.

She wants to name her Rainbow Flower.

Happy Birthday Sophie!

Sophie officially turned 4 today. Such a big girl!
We celebrated her birthday yesterday with a small group of friends from her preschool. A bouncy house and cupcakes, what more could a girl want? The Elsa and Anna dolls Auntie Ngan sent her weren't bad either.

Snow!

Our second snow fall of the year, and it stuck around for a bit...at least long enough for us to go sledding and make a snowman!
Snow, snow, everywhere!

Trudging back up the hill.
Putting on the final touches...
Meet my friend Olaf!

Go Seahawks!

It's Super Bowl Sunday. Seahawks vs. Broncos. Go Seahawks!

Edit: The Seahawks won the Super Bowl. They beat the Broncos, 43-8. I went to the Seahawks parade and almost lost my voice. They estimated that 700 thousand people showed up for the parade. The city went crazy! I will post pictures and videos of the parade soon.

I love ramen!

I made ramen from scratch over the holidays. It's a long day of cooking, but it's worth it for this:
