Dancing Queen

Sophie loves to shake her bootie. At the moment, J-Lo is her favorite.

She really does. And now that she has teeth, she can really chomp down on them.

I saw this while out shopping and couldn't resist. It was so ugly, it's funny. Plus, it was a bargain at only 60.000VND ($3USD).

Stealing toys...

Sophie is always eyening other people's things. She's usually very direct about what she wants and will look you straight in the eyes when she grabs it from you. However, there are times when she can be sneaky...

First sighting--"Oooh...What's that colorful thing Vidha's holding?"

The target is in reach!

Nonchalantly sliding it closer.

"What block?"

"Perhaps it went that way?"

 "I'm sorry, I really don't know what you're talking about."

"Ha! It's all mine now..."

Sun, Sand, & Surf!

We were in Phu Quoc last weekend hoping to be beach bums. Unfortunately, Sophie hated the sand & surf...

Aloha Phu Quoc!

 Sophie got her own crib,
 
 which she was happy about at first...
 
 until she saw how big the bed was!
 

First day on the beach--she clung on to me for dear life and would not let go.

She much preferred the pool.

Second day on the beach, still clinging on to us...

she started kicking the sand, but that was about it.

Third (and final) day...she was finally willing to touch the sand, but by the look on her face, you can tell she wasn't really feeling it.

But she did enjoy the food...

stuffing her face with a pain au chocolat at breakfast.

It's taken a while, but they've finally popped up! She has two on the bottom and, if you look closely, one is poking out on top.

Evening Exercise

In the evening, to work up her appetite for dinner, we take Sophie downstairs to run around and meet up with other kids in the building. She seems to really like these outings as she can't wait to race out the door.

We were fooled by the conveyor belt items into thinking that this was a sushi boat place, but it was a hotpot conveyor belt! You pick out items to put into your hotpot. Interesting concept, yeah? Sophie liked the tofu and kabocha squash cooked in the Japanese style hotpot.

New Toy!

It converts into a walker...

Unfortunately, after we filmed the above, Sophie fell backwards and hit herself pretty hard on the tile. Since then, she has been hesitant to try the walker again. But, she still likes to ride the "car" even though she always backs herself into a corner.
